Choosing the Right Keywords
That is part of the science of conducting SEO
research. Someone can tell you how to do it
and on you go. Tell 10 people how to do it
and you will see several of them do it a
little differently. Even if everyone
performed the mechanics the same, how someone
sees the data and determines its usefulness
is unique to them. And even then there can be
some who get caught in "analysis
paralysis."
There are several factors you have to
consider and assign weight to them to be used
in making your decisions. Factors such as
relevance, average number of times the search
term was used, was the source providing you
with pay-per-click statistics or natural
search results, what is the difference, are
results from last month more or less
important than the yearly average, are
seasonal values important, what is the
correct range of values to consider, how many
competing pages, how does the competition
weigh in?
Those are not all of the factors to consider,
just some of the ones you will need to
consider.
When choosing your keywords, seek the
assistance of SEO Professionals. Don't
leave your success to guess work.
While doing your search for an SEO Company
you may have come across one or more that
guarantee ranking on page 1 or ranking number
1 for certain keyword phrases. Anyone can do
that if you choose a keyword phrase that has
no search volume. IF the phrase has no search
volume, what good is it to you? You can rank
number 1, 2 AND 3, and if nobody is using
that search term... oh well, put that one on
a nice certificate of accomplishment and ride
those customer sales all the way to
bankruptcy.
